Our Amelia Island short term rental condo is one of the most attractively decorated, reasonably priced, clean and comfortable beach rentals, just a four minute walk from the Atlantic ocean.
Much like another famous island to the south of us, Key West, Amelia can be explored by foot, bicycle, or car. Local government has worked with the citizenry to build walking, running and cycling trails. So, bring your walking and cycling clothes. To start your adventure, visit Egan's Creek Greenway by videos, here and here; or, for "marathon" miles click here.
Located in Forest Ridge Village, our Fernandina Beach rental is a short walk to the beach and just minutes by car or bicycle from great attractions like Fort Clinch State Park, historic downtown Fernandina Beach Florida, and all of the many beaches and parks on the island.
Nestled among decades old live oaks, our Amelia Island condo is located on the 2nd floor. Yes, that means the ultimate in privacy, insuring a sound night's sleep. The decor is tastefully "beachy", uncluttered, colorful and unique. The community pool is available anytime for a morning, afternoon or evening swim. Tennis courts are on-site for your use.
Early the first morning of your visit, you will probably want to enjoy the sunshine, fresh air, and sea breezes. Why not take a walk? Here are our favorites.
Whale watching has become a huge event for visitors to Fernandina Beach. It's less than a five minute walk from our condo to the beach. Take along a chair, sunblock, a picnic, something to drink, binoculars, and a camera.
Angling to wet a hook? Consider Bey Bodo Charter Fishing for deep sea bottom fishing.
What could be more interesting than learning more about sharks? That and hunting for sharks' teeth will make for a fun excursion. Visit the Shark Tooth Academy Experience web site for more information.
Kelly Seahorse Ranch is the only state-endorsed horse ranch located on the beach in the entire state of Florida which offers the romance of beach horseback riding year around. They are one of the few professional outfits in the country offering such a unique service.
For a day (or more) at the beach, we offer our guests a 15% discount on beach chairs, umbrellas, paddle boards, body boards and surf boards from Riptide on Amelia Island. The same company is known for the best in tours and excursions.
Have a day or two to explore? Consider taking an Amelia River Cruise boat to Cumberland Island. Just north of Amelia Island, across the St. Mary's river inlet and within site of Fort Clinch, it's Georgia's largest barrier island and one of the most spectacular natural habitats on the Atlantic coast. Before your visit, you might enjoy a series of videos describing what you will experience.
Sliders Seaside Grill is a short, three block walk just north of the condo. As one of our favorites, we know you will find it great fun with a "Key West" atmosphere. And, the food is really tasty while the drinks are strong and delicious. Another night, walk the same three blocks north, then turn left instead of right and visit Cedar River Seafood.
Or, ride into town and visit any one of the many restaurants. The Salty Pelican is definitely worth a try. For lunch, we like The Happy Tomato Courtyard Cafè & BBQ -- it has excellent Yelp reviews. For breakfast, The Patio Place. At days end, why not join the townie's and wind down at First Love Brewing or sit on the porch, overlooking the boat docks at Brett's Waterway Cafe. Or, for the very best in Asian cuisine, visit The Wicked BAO. And, for that very special someone, to celebrate a very special event, David's Restaurant & Lounge is THE PLACE on the island for upscale dining.
So it's Saturday night, after supper, and you are looking for something to do. How about some exercise and beer? Where? Sadler Ranch. But, I've never line danced before. No worries. New comers are welcomed. Join the fun and work off those calories and maybe we will see you'll there.
Ride an e-bike? With advocacy from Nassau County, Amelia Island and the City of Fernandina Beach cyclists, recent legislation has clarified use of e-bikes on all public right-of-ways. The latest on e-bike use is located here.
Our condo is one block west of the designated bike lanes that parallel Fletcher Avenue and A1A, from the top of Amelia Island to the most southerly point.
NFBC, the local bicycle club, has group rides every day of the week. If you are cyclists (of any ilk) then bring your bicycles, or you can rent "cruisers" just across from Sliders. Click here and here for more about cycling Amelia. Click here for a map of the Amelia Island Bicycle Trails.
